Black Business Week Career & Networking Event

We want to

Create a dynamic platform where local Black-owned businesses can connect with potential employees, network with other businesses, and highlight career opportunities within the community.

What to expect that day:

• Welcome and Introduction:
  • Opening remarks by EMERGE leadership and a representative from the City of Minneapolis.
  • Overview of the event’s purpose and agenda.
  • Food Truck; Free meal for the first 30 participants
  • Mobile Learning lab- VR career exploration
• Business Booths and Networking:
  • Businesses will have designated booths to showcase their company, job openings, and career opportunities in health care, social service, transportation construction and customer service.
  • Networking area for business owners to connect with each other and exchange ideas.
• Workshops and Panels:
  • The Connect Up! Workshop. Per info provided (in highlight) looks like it works best in a computer lab. You are welcome to negotiate this with the workshop provider, as well.
• Through this workshop, attendees will:
  • Generate digital strategies that cost little to nothing, but provide maximum return
  • Understand your core message and target audience
  • Identify the best social channels will best achieve your goals
  • Consider how you interact with followers in a fun and engaging way
  • Receive hands-on learning in platforms like Canva, Meta, or Hootsuite
  • Receive 1:1 technical support, along with a workbook
