"I first learned about EMERGE from my brothers. They told me it was a pretty cool program. At the time, I was struggling in school. EMERGE helped me get back on track. You need to maintain good grades to stay in the program, so they motivated me to finish school and graduate. Beyond graduating, I got to explore different careers through virtual reality, which opened my eyes to new possibilities. I also loved volunteering at the food shelf. It gave me the chance to meet more people in my community, and it felt good to give back. But the best part of EMERGE is the staff. They became like family to me. If I was ever in a tight spot, I knew I could call them for help—and I’m still in touch with them today. EMERGE isn’t just a program. It’s a life-changing experience. I’m truly grateful for everything they’ve done for me."
